About This Access Site
The 108th Avenue boat ramp provides access to Lake Thunderbird, a scenic 3,500-acre reservoir on Little River approximately 13 miles east of Norman. This is one of nine boat ramps available around the lake, offering paddlers and boaters convenient access to a popular recreation destination. The ramp is located within Lake Thunderbird State Park, which features comprehensive facilities including two marinas, swim beaches, and extensive camping options.

This access point is ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators looking to explore the calm, protected waters of the reservoir. Lake Thunderbird's expansive surface area makes it well-suited for paddling and motorized recreation. Note that the area is subject to seasonal hunting regulations—waterfowl hunting closes daily at 1:00 PM, and certain ramps may close during designated hunting seasons. Check current Oklahoma waterfowl hunting regulations before visiting during fall and winter months.

The surrounding state park offers excellent amenities for a full day of recreation, including two marinas (Little River Marina and Calypso Cove Marina) that can provide supplies, rentals, and services. With over 200 RV sites, restroom facilities, and multiple launch options, Lake Thunderbird is a well-developed recreation area suitable for paddlers of all experience levels.
