About This Access Site
**Long Lake Boat Area** near Akeley provides public access to Eleventh Crow Wing Lake, an approximately 800-acre spring-fed lake known for its clear water and calm conditions. The site features a concrete boat ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and larger vessels. This is an ideal access point for paddlers seeking a peaceful paddling experience, as the lake typically sees light traffic with minimal watercraft activity.

The lake serves as the official headwaters of the Crow Wing River system and maintains a steady water table thanks to its spring-fed nature. Paddlers can access the full lake, including a passage to other connected Crow Wing Lakes via a recently upgraded 14' x 14' concrete culvert (note: larger boats with canopy tops should be lowered before passing through). The site offers amenities including docks and on-site facilities, making it convenient for day trips or extended paddling adventures.
