About This Access Site
The 200th Street access point provides public boat ramp access to Old Abe Lake, a 470-acre lake in Jim Falls, Chippewa County. This is a convenient launching point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore the lake. With a maximum depth of 36 feet, Old Abe Lake offers diverse paddling opportunities and is well-established for water recreation.

The lake supports a healthy fishery including musky, walleye, northern pike, largemouth and smallmouth bass, panfish, sturgeon, and catfish, making it attractive to anglers as well as paddlers. The 200th Street ramp is one of the primary public access points to the lake, though paddlers should note there is also access available via 189th Street on the Chippewa River (north of Lake Wissota) if exploring the river system. Check local conditions and water levels before launching, and be prepared for the size and depth of this substantial lake.
