About This Access Site
The 7 1/4 Avenue boat ramp in Chetek provides public access to Lake Chetek, a 923-acre lake in Barron County. This access point is convenient for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats into a moderately-sized freshwater lake. With a maximum depth of 22 feet, Lake Chetek offers relatively shallow conditions suitable for paddlers of varying skill levels.

Lake Chetek supports a healthy fishery including panfish, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, and walleye, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. The lake also provides access to a chain of connected lakes, allowing paddlers to explore beyond Lake Chetek itself. Before launching, check local conditions and verify current facility amenities and hours with Barron County Parks or the City of Chetek.
