Located approximately one mile southwest of Abilene State Park's main entrance near Tuscola, this single-lane boat ramp provides access to Lake Abilene, a scenic no-wake lake nestled in the Texas Midwest. The ramp has limited parking capacity (10 vehicles maximum), so plan accordingly during peak usage times. To reach the access point, take FM 89 south from Abilene and turn right on the paved road at the lake.
Lake Abilene is an ideal destination for kayakers and canoeists seeking a calm water experience. The no-wake zone means all motorized boats must operate at idle speed, making it a peaceful paddling environment. Kayak and canoe rentals are available via vending machines near the lake, offering convenient options for visitors without their own equipment.
**Important Note:** As of October 2025, the boat ramp is **closed due to low water levels**, and water-based recreation activities including swimming and fishing are not permitted. Check current conditions with Abilene State Park before visiting, as water levels and access may change seasonally.
