Located on the White River in Nye County, Nevada, the Adams-McGill Reservoir boat ramp provides access to this scenic desert reservoir nestled within the Kirch Wildlife Management Area. The launch site is reached via Forest Road 601, with Adams Lake Road providing the final 0.88-mile approach to the northeast side of the reservoir. This is a relatively remote access point, so plan accordingly with supplies and fuel.
The reservoir is large enough to offer considerable paddling and boating opportunities, with the White River channel visible along the far side of the dam leading toward downstream reservoirs. The area supports multiple recreational activities including fishing, wildlife viewing, and paddling. Note that parking and launch areas should be kept clear for active boaters—arrive early during peak use times to secure a spot. Given the remote desert location, bring plenty of water, check conditions before visiting, and be prepared for variable weather typical of Nevada's high desert environment.
