Airport Park East

Airport Park East offers convenient access to Waco Lake via a two-lane boat ramp located on the north shore, just west of the dam. This year-round facility includes a dock and restroom facilities, making it a practical launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The lake is fed by the North Bosque River, a 115-mile waterway flowing through central Texas, and features substantial submerged timber along the shoreline that creates interesting paddling conditions. Be aware of these underwater obstacles when navigating, particularly near the shoreline.

The park is situated within the city limits of Waco, making it easily accessible from I-35 via Lake Shore Drive. Note that the park offers day-use access to the boat ramp and dock as well as overnight camping options. Airport Park has 46 sites with 50-amp electric and water hookups, and 22 of these also have sewer hookups. There are 8 screen shelters with electrical outlets and water. Fourteen tent-only campsites without electric are also available.

A group camping shelter is available for reservation, and comes with electric, sewer and water hookups. It is equipped with a six-foot grill, 12-foot serving bar, and pavillion with picnic tables. There are eight campsites with electric and water hookups, and six of these have sewer hookups. The group camping area fits about 80 guests.
