About This Access Site
Airport Park West offers convenient boat access to Waco Lake, the largest lake entirely within a single U.S. city's municipal boundaries. Located on the north shore just west of the dam where the North Bosque River feeds into the lake, the facility features a two-lane boat ramp and dock for easy water entry. The park is year-round accessible and includes restrooms and nearby camping facilities for those planning extended visits. For more information or to make reservations, contact the facility at 254-756-5359.

Paddlers and boaters should be aware that the main lake shoreline features significant submerged timber throughout, which can present navigation challenges but attracts fish year-round. The calm, reservoir conditions near the ramp make this a suitable launch point for kayaking and canoeing on Waco Lake. From I-35, take Lake Shore Drive exit west to Steinbeck Bend Road, then follow signs to Airport Road—the park entrance is approximately 2 miles ahead on the left. The North Bosque River, which feeds the lake, extends 115 miles through central Texas and offers additional paddling opportunities upstream for those seeking river conditions.
