Alamo Lake State Park offers two reliable paved boat ramps for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters accessing Alamo Reservoir. One ramp is located at the main campground and another at the adjacent Cholla campground. To reach the main ramp, take Alamo Road and follow Lakeview Drive north into the park. Both ramps are typically open year-round, making them consistently accessible launch points for paddlers.
This Corps-managed lake is ideal for recreational paddling and fishing, with anglers particularly drawn to its secluded coves for largemouth bass. The reservoir provides ample open water for exploration, though paddlers should be prepared for the desert environment and check water levels before visiting, as conditions can vary seasonally. The park is located approximately 38 miles north of Wenden, accessible via a paved two-lane road off U.S. Route 60.
