The Albion boat ramp provides easy access to the Erie Canal for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. Located just west of the village of Albion in Orleans County, New York, this access site features a hard-surface boat ramp and parking for up to 5 vehicles with trailers.
The Erie Canal in this area is a wide, slow-moving waterway that is popular for recreational paddling and boating. Paddlers can explore the canal's scenic surroundings, including Canalside Park in Albion, which offers a pavilion, picnic area, and benches to watch the lift bridge operations. Nearby, the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge provides additional opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature-based recreation.
Please note that this access site will be closed to the public from June 9 through mid-November 2025 due to a construction project to improve the launch facilities. Visitors are encouraged to check for updates on the closure and project details before planning their trip.
