Located approximately 30 miles from Casper, Wyoming, the Alcova Reservoir boat ramp provides convenient access to this 2,470-acre reservoir on the North Platte River. The site is one of eight boat ramps around the reservoir, offering paddlers and boaters multiple launch options. Alcova Resort operates an onsite marina with rentals available for kayaks, canoes, stand-up paddleboards, and other watercraft, making it an accessible destination for visitors without their own equipment.
The reservoir offers diverse recreational opportunities with six campgrounds (both reservable and first-come, first-served options), docking facilities, and picnic areas. From the southwest end of Alcova Reservoir, paddlers can access Fremont Canyon for extended paddling adventures. The area also features an interpretive walking trail, fishing pier, and swimming beaches. Pete's Draw Campground is nearby for those planning overnight trips, and the Pathfinder National Wildlife Refuge and North Platte River system provide additional exploration options in central Wyoming's high plains region.
