About This Access Site
Allen Lake is a 58-acre lake located northeast of Belfast in Allegany County, accessible via West Hill Road. This is a beach launch suitable for small trailered boats, canoes, kayaks, and cartop vessels. The site offers parking for approximately 25 cars and trailers, making it a modest but manageable access point for paddlers.

**Important Restrictions & Features:** Electric motors only are permitted on the lake. The site includes an accessible floating fishing pier open to people of all abilities, with nearby parking. Allen Lake is stocked seasonally with brook trout and brown trout, making it popular with anglers as well as recreational paddlers. The elevation of approximately 1,900 feet reflects the lake's location in New York's upland region.

This is a good option for casual paddling, fishing, and family outings on a smaller inland lake. Arrive early during peak season to secure parking, and be prepared for a beach launch rather than a traditional ramp.
