Hollenbach Launch provides convenient access to Alum Creek Lake, a 3,387-acre recreation area located near Lewis Center in Delaware County. The launch site is located at 3615 South Old State Road and offers a developed boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The park is operated by the Division of Parks and Recreation and features multiple amenities including parking, picnic areas, and a visitor center that provides information for the millions of annual visitors.
The lake features varied water depths ranging from 20 to 40 feet in most areas, with maximum depths reaching approximately 60 feet near the dam. The irregular shoreline includes deep wooded ravines, abandoned farm fields, and high shale bluffs, creating scenic paddling opportunities and diverse habitats. Additional launch points exist nearby on the east side of the lake, including sites off Africa Road and Howard Road, providing multiple access options depending on your paddling destination.
