The Alva Public Boat Ramp provides the easternmost public water access in Lee County, offering convenient launch facilities for kayakers, canoeists, and small to medium-sized boats on the Caloosahatchee River. Located at 21580 Pearl Street in Alva, this newly renovated ramp is ideal for paddlers looking to explore the quieter, freshwater sections of the river and nearby tributaries without the heavier boat traffic found at downstream launches.
From this launch point, paddlers have excellent opportunities to explore lesser-known waterways in the area. Cypress Creek is located approximately 2 miles west, making it an accessible paddle for day trips. The ramp also provides access to the broader Caloosahatchee River system—those interested in saltwater paddling can venture approximately 5.5 miles west to Franklin Lock, which provides access to the saltwater estuary beyond. The area is located near the Caloosahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, adding to the natural appeal for wildlife viewing and paddling.
