About This Access Site
The Alviso Marina County Park provides one of the few boat launch sites in the South San Francisco Bay area, offering access to the open waters of the San Francisco Bay. This launch site features concrete boat ramps and two floating docks, accommodating both motorized and non-motorized watercraft.

The park itself is a 20.6-acre green space with walking trails and boardwalks, providing easy access to the adjacent Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge and the San Francisco Bay Trail. For boaters and paddlers, the launch site offers a convenient entry point to explore the rich wetlands and tidal channels of the Alviso Slough, which connects to the expansive San Francisco Bay.

While the park is open from 8:00 AM to sunset, Santa Clara County Parks offers a special permit program that allows vessel owners to access the launch ramp outside of regular park hours for the sole purpose of launching or retrieving their boats. Visitors should plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to launching to ensure a smooth experience.
