Located in Cleveland, Pawnee County, Appalachia Bay offers a public boat ramp providing access to Keystone Lake via the Cimarron River. This U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recreation area features a maintained boat launch, courtesy dock, and fishing dock, making it convenient for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats. Day-use access requires a pass (available for digital or hard copy display), which grants access to the ramp and day-use facilities.
The facility includes 24 campsites available on a first-come, first-served basis, with about 14 primitive sites offering waterfront access. Amenities include picnic tables and clean restrooms. Appalachia Bay also contains a 400-acre off-road vehicle park, so expect some activity in the area beyond water recreation. The surrounding landscape features wooded shoreline, sandy beaches, high bluffs, and grasslands typical of Keystone Lake's scenic setting.
Paddlers should note that downstream fisheries are accessible at nearby Whitewater and Brush Creek Parks if exploring further along the Cimarron River system. This is a well-developed access point suitable for launching trips on Keystone Lake's expansive blue-green waters.
