**Overview**
Area 2 is a boat ramp access point on Bluestem Lake, a 326-acre reservoir located near Martell in Lancaster County. The lake supports all types of boating, including kayaking and canoeing, and is one of three boat ramps available on the water. The lake relies on runoff for its water supply, so water levels and conditions can vary seasonally.
**Current Status & Amenities**
Please note that this access point is undergoing improvements and may have temporary closures. The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is constructing a new boat ramp and launch dock, along with enhanced parking and ADA-accessible walkways. Once completed, these upgrades will improve launching and watercraft retrieval. The site features multiple docks to support recreational users. Nearby alternative ramps include Stagecoach, Olive Creek, and Conestoga State Recreation Areas if Area 2 is temporarily closed.
**Conditions & Safety**
As a Salt Valley lake, Bluestem's water levels depend on seasonal runoff. Boaters should exercise caution, especially during spring conditions when water levels may be variable. The lake is suitable for calm-water paddling and is complemented by additional recreational amenities including an archery range.
