About This Access Site
Area 5 provides public boat access to Cheniere Lake in Ouachita Parish, Louisiana. This ramp serves as a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring the lake's waters. The facility is located near established marina amenities in the area, including fuel docks and slip rentals at Cheniere Brake Marina, making it a practical base for extended paddling trips or day outings.

The surrounding region offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and nature exploration. Paddlers have easy access to D'Arbonne National Wildlife Refuge to the north and the Louisiana Wetland Management District, both managed to protect the diverse ecosystems of the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. Before launching, check current lake levels, as minimum water elevations affect ramp usability during low-water periods.
