Arkabutla Lake, located on the Coldwater River near Memphis, Tennessee, offers multiple access points for boaters and paddlers. This popular reservoir is known for excellent sailing conditions and strong crappie fishing. A Day Use Pass is required for boat ramp access; both daily and annual passes are available for purchase.
**Current Conditions & Access:** Please note that Arkabutla Lake is currently experiencing substantially lowered water levels due to ongoing dam repairs. This significantly affects boating access and water-based activities. Most boat ramps are temporarily closed. The primary open access is the gravel ramp at Highway 51 landing (north river channel), though boating distance is limited by river flow and lake level. Bayou Point Boat Ramp remains open when water elevation is above 209 feet. Exercise caution, as underwater hazards may be exposed or submerged just below the surface.
**Nearby Amenities:** Three reservable campgrounds are located within 10 miles: Hernando Point, South Abutment, and Dub Patton Campgrounds. Before planning your trip, check current water levels and ramp status with local park management, as conditions continue to change during dam repairs.
