Arkabutla Lake offers multiple convenient boat ramps for accessing this popular reservoir in northwest Mississippi. The lake, located on the Coldwater River, is known for its excellent sailing conditions and abundant crappie fishing.
The boat ramps are operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and provide daily and annual access passes for launching. At normal water levels, most of the ramps are accessible, with the gravel ramp at the Highway 51 landing remaining open even as lake levels fluctuate. Boaters should use caution, however, as underwater hazards may become exposed or remain just below the surface.
For paddlers, the lake's calm waters and scenic shoreline make it an ideal destination for kayaking and canoeing. Three campgrounds within 10 miles offer convenient overnight options. Visitors can also enjoy the lake's fishing pier and explore the surrounding recreation areas.
