About This Access Site
The Coldwater Point boat ramp provides convenient access to Arkabutla Lake in DeSoto County, Mississippi. This large, 17,000-acre reservoir on the Coldwater River is popular with kayakers, canoeists, and powerboaters alike. The lake is known for its excellent crappie fishing and sailing conditions.

Boaters should be aware that due to ongoing repairs to the Arkabutla Dam, water levels have been lowered significantly. This has resulted in the closure of some boat ramps around the lake, including Coldwater Point and the Highway 51 Landing. The remaining open ramps may become unusable in the coming weeks. Paddlers and small boaters should check current conditions before heading out, as access options may be limited. Nearby campgrounds at Dub Patton, South Abutment, and Hernando Point provide accommodation options for those looking to explore the lake.
