About This Access Site
This boat ramp provides convenient access to the Aroostook River in Washburn, located just after the railroad bridge and before the Castle Hill Road bridge on the river's right bank. Watch for the railroad bridge, which appears suddenly after a bend in the river. From US-1 through the area, take the first right turn after crossing the Aroostook River to reach the launch, which is positioned just before Reach Road.

The Aroostook River is a moderate-sized river popular with kayakers and canoeists throughout Aroostook County. This access point is well-suited for paddlers looking to explore the river's scenic sections in the northern Maine region. As with any river access, paddlers should check current water conditions and flow rates before launching, and be prepared for the river's typical characteristics in this area.
