Arrowhead County Park offers a concrete boat ramp on the east shoreline of Freeborn Lake, located just south of the City of Freeborn near County State Aid Highway 8. The ramp accommodates boats up to 12–18 feet, making it suitable for small recreational boats, kayaks, and canoes. There is no launch fee unless a vehicle permit is required for park access—check locally for current permit requirements.
Freeborn Lake is a 2,034-acre waterbody with a maximum depth of 7 feet, making it a calm, shallow lake ideal for recreational paddling and fishing. The surrounding 60-acre park provides additional amenities including picnic areas and hiking trails, making it a good day-use destination. Paddlers should note the shallow depth when planning routes and be aware of any seasonal water level fluctuations. An undeveloped access point also exists on the southeast shoreline if you need an alternative launch location.
