Ashippun Lake is a 94-acre public access point in Oconomowoc, Waukesha County, offering a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorboats. The single-lane ramp is approximately 11 feet wide and suitable for small watercraft. With a maximum depth of 35 feet and moderately clear water, the lake provides good conditions for paddling and fishing. The lake is home to panfish, largemouth bass, northern pike, and walleye.
The facility includes 8 dedicated parking spots for vehicles with trailers (strictly enforced) plus one handicap-accessible spot. The ramp is conveniently located near major highways and within easy driving distance of Milwaukee, making it accessible for day trips. Maintenance is managed jointly by the Waukesha County Park System, the Village of Lac La Belle, and Wisconsin DNR. Paddlers should note that trailer parking is limited, so arriving early during peak times is recommended.
