The Ashley Creek Recreation Area provides a convenient boat ramp access to Blue Mountain Lake and Ashley Creek in the Ouachita Mountains of Arkansas. This facility, operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, offers a launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boaters to explore the scenic waters of Blue Mountain Lake.
The boat ramp is located approximately 2 miles south of the town of Blue Mountain, Arkansas, off of Richie Road. While the recreation area does not have any reservable campsites or other developed amenities, the boat ramp and a vault restroom are available for public use. Those seeking additional recreation options in the area can also visit the nearby Cove Lake Recreation Area, which offers camping, picnicking, and other lake activities.
Blue Mountain Lake is a 160-acre reservoir nestled in the shadow of Mount Magazine, the highest point in Arkansas. The lake and Ashley Creek provide opportunities for fishing, boating, and enjoying the natural surroundings of the Ouachita Mountains. Paddlers and boaters should be aware of any seasonal changes in water levels and plan their trips accordingly.
