About This Access Site
**Location & Access:** This government-owned boat ramp is located on the Aucilla River in Taylor County, Florida, near the town of Lamont. The ramp provides access to the Aucilla River system, with the closest saltwater fishing opportunities at the ramp off Mandalay Road south of Highway 98. The facility is a stand-alone ramp, open to the public.

**Paddling & Boating:** The Aucilla Landing serves kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters exploring this scenic river. Paddlers have multiple access options along the Aucilla system, including several primitive canoe access points in the Cabbage Grove Tract area (Aucilla Rapids, O'Neil Grade, and North/South sections) for those seeking a more backcountry experience. The river transitions from freshwater to saltwater as you head downstream toward St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, making it popular with both freshwater anglers and those targeting coastal species.

**Nearby Recreation:** The access area is close to St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, established in 1931 as a wintering habitat for migratory birds and one of the oldest refuges in the National Wildlife Refuge system. This proximity makes the Aucilla River an excellent paddle for combining wildlife viewing with fishing or recreational boating.
