The Augusta boat ramp provides access to the Kennebec River in central Maine. Located at the end of Water Street near Merrymeeting Dog Park and the railroad bridge, this town-operated facility features a single gravel ramp suitable for launching kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. From this launch point, paddlers can access the Kennebec River downstream through Sidney and Augusta, offering opportunities for exploration along this major river corridor.
**Important considerations:** The ramp is in poor condition and becomes unusable at low tide, so plan your launch around tidal conditions. On-site parking is limited. The site has no restroom facilities. To reach the ramp, follow Grove Street down to Water Street, then turn right—the launch is just past the softball fields. For current conditions or additional information, contact the Town of Augusta or the Maine Bureau of Parks and Lands.
