**Location & Access:** Auto Lake (also known as Camp Four Lake) is located approximately 10 miles north of Buhl, Minnesota in St. Louis County. The parking area is situated about ¼ mile south of the lake on Highway 25. This is a **carry-in access site**, meaning you'll need to portage your boat or kayak roughly ¼ mile from the parking area to reach the water.
**What to Expect:** Auto Lake is a small backcountry lake with 2 designated campsites available for overnight trips. The nearby lake cluster includes Dark Lake, Knuckey Lake, and Clear Lake, making this an excellent base for exploring multiple waters in the area. There are no launch fees at this access point. This site is best suited for canoeists and kayakers comfortable with portaging; trailered motorboats are not practical given the carry-in nature of the access.
**Planning Your Visit:** Since this is a remote backcountry access with limited facilities, come prepared with adequate water, supplies, and maps. The nearby Camp Four Lake campground can provide additional camping options if you're planning an extended paddling trip in this region.
