Ayer Boat Basin, officially known as Lyons Ferry Marina, is a public boat ramp providing access to Lake Herbert G. West on the lower Snake River in southeastern Washington's remote Columbia Plateau region. Located on the south bank of the river near Snake River Mile 51, this Army Corps of Engineers facility offers a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats exploring this scenic section of the Snake River system.
This day-use area is well-suited for various water activities including boating and fishing. Paddlers should note that gas docks are available only at the Snake River Marina, not at this ramp. Spring paddlers should be cautious of woody debris (logs) that accumulates during high water periods. The surrounding recreation area encompasses 170 acres and provides access to the broader Lake West recreation area, making it a solid base for exploring the lower Snake River's quieter sections.
