Located in Vernon County near Genoa, this boat ramp provides access to the Bad Axe River, a scenic tributary of the Mississippi River featuring light rapids and multiple paddling segments. The access point is popular with both trout fishermen and paddlers. **Note:** The shoreline here is steep, which can make launching and pulling up boats somewhat challenging—plan accordingly when loading/unloading.

The Bad Axe River offers several paddling options downstream, with varying conditions. Expect mostly clear water with occasional light rapids, though there are some strainers and at least one fence portage that most paddlers can navigate with good boat control. Depending on your intended route, you may encounter a few logjams—portaging is generally manageable. The upper sections (near Highway N and South Bad Axe Road) are considered more scenic than lower stretches.

**Parking tip:** Use the downstream/right corner of the access area for the best parking availability. This site works well for day trips combining multiple river segments of 0.6 to 2.1 miles each.
