About This Access Site
The Bald Eagle boat ramp in Mill Hall provides convenient access to Bald Eagle Creek for kayakers, canoeists, and motorized boats. This well-maintained concrete ramp is part of Bald Eagle State Park, located at the Foster Joseph Sayers Dam recreation area. The access point allows paddlers to explore both the creek downstream and, depending on water levels, the 1,730-acre impoundment created by the dam.

**Important water level considerations:** Boat launches are only available when the lake elevation is between 628 and 632 feet. Check current water levels before your trip. Paddlers should note that Bald Eagle Creek features some shallow areas and narrow passages, so larger motorized vessels may encounter navigation challenges in certain sections. This makes the creek particularly suitable for canoes and kayaks, especially for those paddling downstream toward Dowdy's Hole Access and beyond. For upstream paddling, you can continue into Spring Creek from the Bellefonte Waterfront Walkway area.
