Balm Lake is a 537-acre lake located 25 miles northwest of Bemidji in Beltrami County, offering a convenient public boat launch for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The access site features a concrete ramp and parking for 10 trucks with trailers, located on the northeast corner of the lake off County Highway 32. There are no launch fees at this access point.
The lake has a maximum depth of 33 feet, providing good conditions for recreational paddling and boating throughout the season. Most standard recreational boats up to 12-18 feet can be launched from this ramp. The site's straightforward setup and ample parking make it a practical choice for day trips or longer outings on this scenic northern Minnesota lake.
