Balta Dam Park offers convenient public access to a small 109-acre reservoir in north-central North Dakota, located just 1 mile south of the town of Balta in Pierce County. The park features two paved boat ramps—one on each side of 27th Avenue Northeast—making it easy to launch kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. With a maximum depth of 14.3 feet and average depth of 5.9 feet, the reservoir is suitable for recreational paddling and fishing.
The facility is well-maintained and offers excellent amenities for a full day of recreation or camping. Paddlers and boaters will find RV hookups, modern bathrooms with showers, enclosed and covered campsites, and designated accessible parking and facilities. The site is wheelchair accessible with drop-off/pick-up areas available, making it welcoming for visitors of various abilities. The 4.2-mile shoreline provides a pleasant, protected paddling environment for beginners and families.
