The Bangor Boat Ramp provides convenient access to Cave Run Lake, Kentucky's 8,270-acre reservoir located in the northernmost section of Daniel Boone National Forest. This ramp accesses a narrow portion of the lake, making it an ideal launch point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the scenic waterway surrounded by national forest. The facility is located on Bangor Boat Dock Road, just off KY 1274, approximately west of Morehead.
**Getting There & Facilities:** From I-64, take Exit 133 for KY 801 South, then continue on Highway 1274 SE and turn left on New Hope Road to reach the ramp. Parking is available at the boat ramp. Note that fishing is prohibited from the ramp itself, but anglers will find diverse fish species once on the water.
**Nearby Recreation:** Paddlers interested in multi-day trips can take advantage of three nearby reservable boat-in and traditional campgrounds—Claylick Boat-In Campground, Boat Gunnel Group Campground, and Twin Knobs Campground—all within 10 miles. The lake's extensive shoreline and national forest setting offer excellent opportunities for day paddling, camping, and fishing.
