About This Access Site
Barbour River Landing is a boat ramp located within the Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge, providing access to the Barbour River in coastal Georgia. This single-lane ramp is suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorized boats.

The Barbour River is a tidal waterway, with calm, slow-moving current typical of coastal rivers in the region. The ramp is situated along a wide, navigable stretch of the river, allowing for easy launching and access to the surrounding marshes and creeks. Paddlers can explore the winding Barbour River, observing the diverse wildlife and natural scenery of the refuge.

The boat ramp is managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service as part of the Blackbeard Island Wilderness. While the ramp itself is not reservable, visitors can access the wider Harris Neck National Wildlife Refuge by boat. Boaters should be aware that there are no services provided at the ramp, and transportation to nearby Blackbeard Island is not available through the refuge.
