**IMPORTANT: Barclay Bay boat ramp is closed for the 2025 season.** Boaters and paddlers should use alternative access points at Little Turner Gulch or Spring Shores Marina on Lucky Peak Reservoir instead.
When open, Barclay Bay serves as a popular launch point on Lucky Peak Reservoir, the impounded section of the Boise River southeast of Lucky Peak Dam. The facility typically features two boat ramps with ample trailer parking, a full-service marina offering fuel and supplies, and moorage options. A free access area with dock and restroom facilities is available for swimmers and day-use visitors. The reservoir's calm water makes it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboats alike.
Macks Creek Campground (reservable) is located within 10 miles if you're planning an overnight trip. The site is accessible via Highway 21, and the Boise Greenbelt also provides bicycle access to the reservoir. For current information on boater safety, etiquette, and any updates on facility status, contact Ada County Parks & Recreation or Ada County Waterways.
