**Location & Access:** Bark Bay Slough is located near Herbster in Bayfield County along Lake Superior's shoreline. From Herbster, take State Highway 13 northeast for 3.5 miles, then turn north and west on Bark Bay Road for 0.5 miles to reach the public boat landing on the east side of the road.
**Water Conditions & Recreation:** This 67-acre slough offers shallow, calm waters with a maximum depth of 7 feet—ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and small boats. The protected waters make it an excellent choice for paddlers of all skill levels. The slough provides good fishing opportunities for panfish and northern pike. Paddlers exploring the area by canoe or kayak can access a secluded beach on the nearby spit, which is popular for wildlife viewing and bird watching.
