Barnes Valley provides access to the southeast arm of Gerber Reservoir, a scenic irrigation storage lake located 14 miles east of Bonanza in Klamath County, Oregon. This site features a gravel ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and smaller boats, though it lacks improved docking facilities. Boaters should be prepared to back their vessels down the beach for launch and retrieval.

**Important Considerations:** Water levels at Gerber Reservoir fluctuate seasonally due to irrigation demands, significantly affecting launch conditions. During lower water periods, larger boats become increasingly difficult to launch from this site. Before visiting, check current reservoir levels and contact local authorities, as the ramp may be out of the water during drought conditions. The site works best for paddlecraft and small boats with flexible draft requirements.

The surrounding area offers primitive camping, day-use facilities, and opportunities for fishing and wildlife viewing. For more developed amenities and improved concrete ramps, visitors may consider the North and South boating access sites or the Ben Hall Arm access point near Gerber Dam on the reservoir's north end.
