About This Access Site
Barney Drive is a public DNR-managed boat launch offering direct access to Lake Huron in Tuscola County. The facility features a hard surface ramp suitable for small to medium-sized watercraft. **Note:** This launch is located in an area with limited water depth, so launching and retrieving large boats is not recommended. Paddlers and smaller boat operators will find this access point more practical than those with bigger vessels.

The ramp is **seasonal, operating from early April through mid-November, weather permitting**. A daily launch fee or seasonal permit is required year-round. Before launching, ensure your watercraft and trailer are in good condition and appropriate for the limited-depth conditions at this site. Lake Huron offers excellent paddling opportunities for kayakers and canoeists once on the water, making this a solid access point for small-craft exploration of the shoreline and deeper waters beyond the launch area.
