About This Access Site
Barney Jordan Landing is a large public boat ramp located at the end of Rosewood Drive on the Columbia side of the Congaree River in Richland County. This access point sits near the lower portion of the Congaree River, just upstream of where it approaches Lake Marion. The landing provides convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters looking to explore this section of the river.

Paddlers should be prepared for rock dodging, particularly at lower water levels. The landing offers ample parking and is well-positioned for day trips exploring the scenic Congaree River corridor. From this access point, you can paddle upstream toward the confluence of the Congaree and Saluda Rivers near downtown Columbia or downstream toward the approaching flatwater of Lake Marion. The area is near the Francis Marion and Sumter National Forests, offering opportunities to experience the natural character of the region.
