About This Access Site
Bass Lake is a 416-acre lake in the Town of Somerset, Oneida County, offering a well-maintained public access point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The DNR-owned site features two boat launches and two courtesy docks, providing reliable access to this moderate-sized water body with a maximum depth of 35 feet. The paved boat ramp and docks make launching and landing straightforward for paddlers of all skill levels.

The landing includes a paved parking lot with 17 stalls (one ADA-accessible) managed under a maintenance agreement with St. Croix County. A daily launch fee of $10 applies, or $30 annually. The site has adequate infrastructure for both day trips and extended paddling, with signage and basic facilities available. Given the lake's size and depth, paddlers should come prepared for variable wind and water conditions.
