Bass Lake #3 is a well-maintained public boat launch located in New Auburn, Chippewa County, providing convenient access to the 416-acre Bass Lake. The site features a paved one-lane concrete boat ramp with two courtesy docks, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. With a maximum depth of 35 feet, the lake offers good water conditions for various paddling and boating activities.
The access area includes a paved parking lot with 17 vehicle/trailer spaces (one ADA accessible) and is managed by St. Croix County under a maintenance agreement with the Wisconsin DNR. A daily launch fee ($10) or annual pass ($30) is required. Note that shoreline access around the lake is limited by extensive Phragmites stands, so plan to launch and paddle from the main water body. During high water periods, the Mazon River contributes water to the lake, which has helped diversify the fish population, making it an attractive destination for anglers as well as paddlers.
