About This Access Site
Bass River Beach in Yarmouth offers convenient access to Bass River and quick passage to Nantucket Sound. The facility features a double concrete boat ramp with floats and docks, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger powerboats up to 30 feet. Located off South Street near the river's mouth, this access point is ideal for paddlers seeking direct routes to open water and the surrounding waters east of Chatham, including access to Monomoy National Wildlife Refuge.

**Practical Information:** This is a fee-based launch facility with ample parking for 65+ vehicle and trailer combinations. A bathhouse is available seasonally (Memorial Day to Labor Day). One important consideration: Bass River has long stretches of No Wake zones upstream, so plan your route accordingly. The proximity to Nantucket Sound makes Bass River Beach one of the most convenient ramps in the area for avoiding these restrictions and reaching open water quickly.
