Battery Park is conveniently located beneath the John Gorrie Bridge in downtown Apalachicola, offering a six-lane public boat ramp with direct access to both Apalachicola Bay and the Apalachicola River. The facility includes paved trailer parking, a fishing pier, and picnic areas, making it an ideal launch point for both bay and river paddling. The park's central location puts you within easy walking distance of downtown Apalachicola's services and amenities.

**Paddling Opportunities**
From Battery Park, paddlers can explore the productive waters of Apalachicola Bay and the scenic Apalachicola River. The area is part of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, one of the most ecologically valuable estuarine systems in the Northern Hemisphere. Nearby paddling destinations include St. Vincent National Wildlife Refuge, which comprises approximately 12,492 acres across islands and mainland tracts and offers excellent fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities.

**Before You Visit**
Use the gravel parking lot rather than grass areas to help preserve the facility. The ramp can get busy, especially during special events like the annual Florida Seafood Festival held at Battery Park. Plan accordingly if you're launching during peak times.
