About This Access Site
Bay Area Park offers convenient boat ramp access to Armand Bayou in Pasadena, located where the bayou passes under Bay Area Boulevard. This is an ideal put-in point for kayakers, canoeists, and pontoon boats, providing easy access to the paddling trail for both beginners and experienced paddlers. The site features a boat ramp and loading facilities suitable for various watercraft.

From this central location on the bayou, paddlers can head either north or south to explore the Armand Bayou Paddling Trail. **Important note for motorboaters: power boats are prohibited upstream from GPS marker #4 through trail marker #26**, making the upper sections ideal for quiet paddle sports like kayaking and canoeing. Bay Area Park serves as an excellent midpoint access location for planning longer paddles or shuttle trips along the trail.

To reach the site from Houston, take the Gulf Freeway toward Galveston and exit at Bay Area Boulevard, heading toward Pasadena. For more information about facilities, activities, and regulations along Armand Bayou, visit the Armand Bayou Nature Center website at abnc.org.
