Located at the end of Shellbelt Road where the Bayou La Batre Channel meets Mobile Bay, this public access point offers a convenient launch for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters exploring the area. The facility features one boat ramp, two courtesy docks, and approximately 40 parking spots. Note that the site has no lighting or restroom facilities, so plan your visit accordingly during daylight hours.
This location provides excellent access to Mobile Bay and the productive estuarine waters surrounding the Grand Bay area. Paddlers and boaters can explore the nearby Grand Bay National Wildlife Refuge and Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, two of the most biologically rich ecosystems in the northern Gulf of Mexico. The site has undergone recent redevelopment improvements, including enhancements to the boat ramp and new access features.
