About This Access Site
The Bazile Creek boat ramp near Niobrara in Knox County provides access to Bazile Creek for kayakers, canoeists, and other small watercraft. This access point is currently undergoing improvements as part of the Verdel Landing WMA boating access project, with substantial completion expected by April 2026. During this renovation period, paddlers should plan to use the alternate Bazile Creek WMA access point located approximately 10 miles downstream, which remains open subject to adequate water levels.

When the project is complete, the improved facility will feature a new dock, extended ramp for better launch capabilities, ADA-compliant parking and accessible route to the ramp, and riprap shoreline protection. These upgrades will enhance accessibility for all users. Before visiting, check current water conditions and access status, as spring runoff and seasonal water levels can affect paddling feasibility and access availability on this creek system.
