Beardsley Reservoir is a popular destination for kayakers, canoeists, and small boaters in the Stanislaus National Forest. The boat ramp provides access to the scenic reservoir, which is surrounded by forested hills and mountains.
The ramp is located at the Lyons Reservoir (PG&E) Day Use area, which offers fishing, picnicking, and hiking trails. Be aware that the boat ramp elevation is 3,315 feet above sea level. The ramp is open to the public year-round, though access may be limited during winter months due to seasonal road closures.
Unfortunately, the boat ramp is currently closed to prevent the spread of an invasive species, the golden mussel. Visitors are advised to contact the Summit Ranger Station at (209) 965-3434 for the latest information on the status of the ramp and any restrictions on boating. Nearby campgrounds and recreation areas in the Stanislaus National Forest provide additional opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.
