About This Access Site
**Location & Access:**
Beaubien Woods offers a boat ramp providing access to the Little Calumet River in Chicago's South Side. The launch is located at the Beaubien Woods Forest Preserve (operated by the Forest Preserves of Cook County), south of 130th Street between the I-94 Bishop Ford Freeway and Altgeld Gardens. To reach it, turn west onto 132nd Street near Carver Military Academy at 13100 S. Doty Avenue.

**Facilities & Boat Types:**
This trailered boat launch accommodates canoes, kayaks, rowboats, sailboats, and boats with trolling motors. The ramp is designed for both non-motorized paddlers and anglers. The site also features accessible fishing opportunities, making it a multi-use water access point.

**Paddling Context:**
Beaubien Woods is part of the larger Calumet Open Space Reserve system and provides a key put-in for exploring this urban stretch of the Little Calumet River. The waterway features historic character, including remnants of Chicago's industrial past and notable structures like the O'Brien Locks at Lake Calumet. Additional paddling access is planned for the Robbins area west of this location, extending water trail opportunities along the river.
