About This Access Site
Beaver Creek Reservoir State Wildlife Area offers a convenient boat ramp and access site for paddlers and small motorized boats on the headwaters of Beaver Creek. The concrete boat ramp, parking lot, and restrooms are located on the southeast shore of the 600-acre reservoir.

This reservoir impoundment on Beaver Creek, a major tributary of the Rio Grande, provides a calm, wakeless boating experience. While motorized boats are permitted, operators must control their speed and wakes. Canoes, kayaks, and float tubes also have access to explore the reservoir's waters, which are stocked with trout.

A valid hunting or fishing license or State Wildlife Area pass is required for anyone 16 or older accessing this site. Nearby camping is available at the Big Meadows Reservoir Campground. Boaters should be aware that this is a high-elevation, headwater stream with a steep gradient, cool temperatures, and unpredictable flows typical of Rocky Mountain rivers and streams.
